Years of Action: 2022-2025
In Indonesia, our journey began with a vision to uplift communities through education and opportunity. From bustling urban centers to remote villages, we have opened doors to knowledge, fought hunger, and created safe spaces for children and youth. With every new center, scholarship, and food kit, we strive to ensure that no one is left behind, whether itâs an orphan in Medan, a student from a distant village, or a family facing malnutrition in Jakarta.
The Rumah Kedua (Second Home) Project provides safe housing for 20 students from poor, remote villages who have no access to secondary schools. In this family-like environment, they receive academic follow-up, continue their education free of charge, and overcome one of the greatest barriers to learning for rural youth
The Hidup Baik (Defeat the Hunger) Program tackles malnutrition in one of Jakartaâs poorest areas. By providing monthly food kits packed with protein, carbohydrates, vegetables, fruits, and cooking essentials, 55 vulnerable families are regaining their health and moving toward self-reliance.
In Medan, we helped establish an Orphanage to provide a safe, nurturing home for 25 children aged 6â18. They receive care for both their physical and emotional well-being, along with ongoing educational support until adulthood. The project also includes essential building renovations and the Taman Baca after-school program, offering a supportive space where children can strengthen their academic skills and work toward a brighter future.
Our Bridge Program operates educational and cultural centers in Bekasi, Green Lake, Surabaya, and Manado, and is now expanding to Yogyakarta. These centers offer English, computer skills, and personal development courses for all ages, benefiting more than 500 people each year. The new Yogyakarta center will serve an additional 100 people, while the newly opened Educational Library in Surabaya provides students with free access to books and references.
The Bridge Program Courses and Scholarships expand on this mission, by offering skills development classes, after-school support, and scholarships from preparatory school through university. Each year more than 300 individuals benefit from these opportunities, gaining the skills needed to succeed academically and thrive in the labor market.
For women seeking a sustainable income, we offer a two-step basic program: basic literacy classes followed by professional sewing and tailoring courses.
To date, 300 women have gained marketable skills, improving the livelihoods of 1,500 family members and strengthening womenâs roles as leaders and contributors in their communities
