Egypt

A Journey of Lasting Change

Years of Action: 2013-2025

Since 2013, our work in Egypt has evolved from humble beginnings into a multi-faceted mission, touching the lives of youth, children, and families across Cairo, Alexandria, Mokattam, and Upper Egypt. Through technical education, vocational training, inclusive programs for children with disabilities, and essential healthcare services, we have created opportunities, inspired change, strengthened community skills, provided healing solutions to the vulnerable, and transformed futures.

For over a decade, LFA Canada has supported communities in Egypt, driving lasting impact through education, healthcare, inclusion, and economic sustainability.

Partners

Offering New Life and New Hope

Moved by the voices of patients sharing their pain and struggles, LFA Canada partnered with Egypt without Disease, local NGO, to bring relief and create lasting solutions to end long-term suffering

Healthcare Expansion – Beni Mazar
Programs include a fully equipped medical center with primary healthcare clinics, renal dialysis units, Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), Operating Rooms (OR), Intensive Care Units (ICUs), mental health centers, and addiction rehabilitation services.

Hemodialysis Units – Egypt
Increase the number of hemodialysis units across Egypt – focusing on Luxor and Alexandria – to improve the quality of care for patients with chronic kidney disease. Expanding access to life-saving treatment will reduce complications and slow progression to end-stage renal disease.

NICU – Mokattam, Cairo
Seven neonatal beds providing care for 500 premature and critically ill newborns annually, ensuring access to life-saving treatment for underserved communities.

Seeing the Future through the Hopes and Dreams of Young Adults

Brighter Future Program – Technical Education & Vocational Training
In partnership with The Little Flock Foundation, youth from low-income families, mainly in Upper Egypt, receive full scholarships for technical education at Don Bosco Institute in Cairo or Ghabbour Applied Technology School. Training covers trades like electrical, mechanical, automotive, and welding, plus life skills, accommodation, and health services.

Since the launch of the program:

Youth Employability Training – Beni Mazar, Menya
A new vocational center in Beni Mazar is being established to train youth in skills, such as refrigeration, AC repair, phone repair, electrical wiring, and sewing. The program also supports school-aged children through English, mental math, and literacy programs.

Inclusion that Empowers Every Voice

Life Together II Program – Inclusion for Children with Mental Disabilities

Breaking Barriers. Building Futures.
In Egypt, children with mental disabilities often face isolation and limited opportunities, while their families endure stigma and lack of support from the surrounding community.

Through the Life Together II Program, LFA Canada, in partnership with the Little Flock, works to change this reality by building inclusive support systems that combine therapy, tailored educational programs, and family counselling. Each session is designed not only to develop skills, but also to foster confidence and a sense of belonging. As families grow stronger and children gain independence, new opportunities emerge for them to integrate into society and live fulfilling, dignified lives.

Skill Building and Youth Empowerment

Delivering a series of vocational training programs across Aswan, Assiut, Beni Suef, and Qalyubia to foster skill development and education among vulnerable groups of all ages. These programs aim to expand opportunities for poor and marginalized communities, enhancing their socio-economic conditions and paving the way toward a more sustainable future.

“Future Heroes” Program

Establishing 80 “Future Heroes” classrooms for primary school students. This initiative will directly benefit 800 children, equipping them with the values, knowledge, and confidence to grow into empowered and resilient future leaders.

“Healing Hands, Brighter Futures” Project

Over a 12-month period (October 2025 – September 2026), this project will provide 600 life-changing surgeries to underprivileged patients across Egypt. In partnership with Egypt Without Disease hospitals, the program will ensure a holistic approach that includes comprehensive patient screening, high-quality surgical interventions, and essential post-operative care. By restoring health and dignity, the initiative aims to create brighter futures for some of the most vulnerable members of society.
